Mission Statement of the River Ridge Elementary PTO
To unite parents, teachers, and staff in a collaborative Wolfpack that enriches every child’s educational journey by:
Supporting Learning – funding and organizing programs, resources, and experiences that spark curiosity and academic growth.
Empowering Educators – championing our teachers and staff with appreciation, tools, and teamwork that let them focus on what matters most: students.
Building Community – creating inclusive events and communications that welcome every family, celebrate diversity, and strengthen our community.
Championing Service & Stewardship – responsibly managing time, talent, and funds to maximize impact today while laying a foundation for tomorrow.
Together, we lead with kindness, collaborate with purpose, and inspire our children to learn, lead, and grow.

Shape every fundraiser & family event
Determine where funds are needed
Allocate funds to projects that benefit families, students and staff
Collaborate with a fun, motivated crew of parents & staff
If interested, self‑nominate for one of these one‑year leadership roles, below.
Please note that not all of these positions may be filled. Those marked with a * are required for the organization.
President*
Leads overall PTO strategy, priorities, and decision-making
Runs meetings and sets agendas
Primary liaison with principal/school administration
Ensures alignment with school needs and PTO goals
Oversees board performance and resolves issues
Signs contracts/approvals as needed
*Must have served on the PTO Board at least one year before applying
Executive VP (Operations / President-Elect)
Supports President and steps in when needed
Oversees day-to-day PTO operations across all areas
Ensures VPs are on track and coordinating effectively
Helps with planning calendar, budget alignment, and logistics
Often transitions into President role in future
Treasurer*
Manages all PTO finances and accounts
Tracks income/expenses and maintains accurate records
Prepares and presents monthly financial reports
Oversees budget and ensures spending aligns with plan
Handles reimbursements, payments, and deposits
Manages tax filings, compliance, and financial controls
Secretary*
Records and distributes meeting minutes
Maintains official records and documentation
Tracks attendance and voting outcomes
Manages shared documents (bylaws, contacts, archives)
Handles formal communications like meeting notices
VP of Fundraising
Plans and executes all fundraising initiatives
Sets fundraising goals and strategy for the year
Manages campaigns (sales, events, sponsorships, donations)
Coordinates with Communications for promotion
Tracks performance and reports results
Recruits and manages fundraising volunteers
VP of Engagement (Families, Students, Staff, Volunteers)
Builds participation across the school community
Recruits, organizes, and retains volunteers
Creates ways for families to get involved (low and high commitment)
Supports teacher/staff appreciation and relationships
Helps ensure inclusivity and accessibility of PTO efforts
Works closely with Events and Communications to drive turnout
VP of Programs / Events
Plans and executes PTO events (Glow Dance, market, etc.)
Manages event timelines, logistics, and budgets
Coordinates volunteers for event execution
Works with school for space, approvals, and scheduling
Partners with Fundraising (if event is revenue-generating)
Conducts post-event wrap-ups and improvements
VP of Communications / Marketing
Owns all PTO communication channels (email, social, website)
Creates and manages content calendar
Designs flyers, graphics, and promotional materials
Ensures consistent messaging and branding
Promotes events and fundraisers effectively
Manages email lists and parent communication flow
Supports sponsor visibility and community partnerships

Love teamwork—brainstorming, planning, and pitching in on events.

Who votes?
All current PTO members which includes all parents, guardians and staff of RRE. Voting takes place Thursday, May 7th at 6pm in the RRE Library.
