Mission Statement of the River Ridge Elementary PTO

To unite parents, teachers, and staff in a collaborative Wolfpack that enriches every child’s educational journey by:

  1. Supporting Learning – funding and organizing programs, resources, and experiences that spark curiosity and academic growth.

  2. Empowering Educators – championing our teachers and staff with appreciation, tools, and teamwork that let them focus on what matters most: students.

  3. Building Community – creating inclusive events and communications that welcome every family, celebrate diversity, and strengthen our community.

  4. Championing Service & Stewardship – responsibly managing time, talent, and funds to maximize impact today while laying a foundation for tomorrow.

Together, we lead with kindness, collaborate with purpose, and inspire our children to learn, lead, and grow.


Why throw your hat in the ring?

  • Shape every fundraiser & family event

  • Determine where funds are needed 

  • Allocate funds to projects that benefit families, students and staff

  • Collaborate with a fun, motivated crew of parents & staff

If interested, self‑nominate for one of these one‑year leadership roles:

President

• Chair monthly meetings  

• Set the annual agenda & goals  

• Act as PTO’s voice with school leadership

• Communicate with families, students and PTO on a regular basis 

• Must have served on the PTO one year prior to running for President

Vice‑President

• Partner with the President on strategy  

• Oversee committees & step in when the President is away  

• Keep projects on track

Secretary

• Record accurate meeting minutes  

• Manage PTO email & documents  

• Maintain Bylaws

Treasurer

• Track finances with spreadsheets

• Create budgets and financial reports  

• Ensure compliance with school & IRS guidelines

• File annual taxes and returns

• Submit events for School Board approval

How to run

  1. Be a parent or guardian of a River Ridge student.

  2. Love teamwork—brainstorming, planning, and pitching in on events.

  3. Complete the nomination form and return it to ptoriverridge@gmail.com by

    Friday, May 9th. 


Who votes?

All current PTO members which includes all parents, guardians and staff of RRE. Voting takes place Wednesday, May 14th at 7pm in the RRE Cafe.
